Green D+ Vegetable Oil Degumming
Our unique system uses a patent pending NANO Cavitation Process that converts crude non-degummed vegetable oils into high quality degummed oils using only water. Our technology offers competitive advantages that translate into considerable potential savings for clients. For example, our Green D+ Degumming System could potentially improve profits by as much as $100 million of savings to the industry and incremental income to a producers.
This new technology will replace older and more complex and costly equipment and systems which are less environmentally friendly and will offer substantial savings in energy, maintenance, labor and chemicals over conventional processes. There are many applications, which require “degumming” which is a process that removes waxes and other impurities from a product. An example is soy oil. In order for soybean oil to be used in the production of biodiesel, it normally has to be degummed. We believe our technology will deliver degummed vegetable oils at a lower cost.
The CTI process is a new degumming protocol that employs Nano-cavitation technology and water to remove non-hydratable gums from vegetable oils including soybean, canola, rice bran, mustard and palm oils. CTI technology uses only water and the NANO Cavitation Reactors Systems to convert non-degummed vegetable oils into high quality de-gummed vegetable oils. We filed the patent June 15, 2009
Our system removes non-hydratable gums, mostly phosphatidic acid (PA) and phosphatidyl ethanolamine (PE), which is not removed by, water de-gumming without the use of phosphoric or citric acid. Acid de-gumming, however, is associated with oil loss due to its emulsifying nature and subsequent washings. Physical de-gumming with nano-cavitation, however, when combined with water de-gumming removes non-hydratable gums with much less oil loss. Gums recovered through our technique can easily be collected and used for commercial purposes. (Patents pending)
In several tests conducted with a renowned expert in the field of vegetable oil refining, CTI processed crude vegetable oil with more than 1,300 PPM phosphorus which was reduced to 17-25 PPM with only the use of water. This is an improvement of more than 80% compared to typical hot water degumming that reduces gums to about 200 PPM.
